About Betsy
Meet Betsy, a vivacious and enthusiastically excitable dog with energy levels that seem unlimited! With her exuberant personality, she's sure to bring joy and smiles to your home. Betsy is the kind of dog who wakes up ready to embrace the day with excitement and would fit right in with an active individual or family who can keep up with her energetic lifestyle.
Betsy loves her toys and enjoys interactive play with her people. She's a bright, engaging dog who thrives on activity and will benefit greatly from ongoing training and enrichment. With the right guidance and plenty of exercise, Betsy will channel her enthusiasm into positive activities that strengthen her bond with her human companions.
While Betsy enjoys the company of people, she has been selective with dogs she has met at the shelter. For this reason, Betsy would be best suited as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the attention and enjoy being the centre of her family's world. In return, she'll offer endless fun, affection, and companionship to the lucky people who welcome her home.

About Daisy
- Application Only -
Daisy is a beautiful Kelpie looking for a very special home with someone who truly understands her breed and is willing to give her the time, patience, and consistency she deserves.
When Daisy first arrived in our care, she was incredibly timid and found the shelter environment overwhelming. With patience, kindness and time, we've watched her slowly begin to trust and reveal her beautiful, sweet-natured personality. Once she feels safe, Daisy is an affectionate girl who loves cuddles, spending time with her people, and simply being part of the family. Daisy is also incredibly intelligent and thrives with calm, consistent guidance.
Being a Kelpie, Daisy is an active dog who needs plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. While she hasn't shown a high drive in our care, she still needs an owner who understands the unique needs of working breeds. She will also require secure fencing, as she is capable of jumping fences.
Daisy is looking for an experienced, adult-only home with someone who has previous Kelpie or working-breed experience. She won't be the right match for everyone, but for the person willing to earn her trust, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, quiet affection, and a truly special bond.
Daisy is available to meet by application only.
To apply, please send an email to companion.animal@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au and include the following:

About Shira
Shira came into our shelter as a stray with her one-day-old puppies. Despite finding herself in an unfamiliar environment, she proved to be a devoted and loving mum, raising her puppies with great care. Now that all of her babies have found their forever homes, it's finally Shira's turn to find a family of her own.
Shira can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, she quickly comes out of her shell and shows her affectionate, loyal nature. Once she trusts you, she's a wonderful companion who enjoys being by your side.
Shira would thrive in a calm home with no young children. She would be best suited to a household as an only dog, with teenagers and above, where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace.
Don't let her gentle nature fool you-Shira has plenty of energy! She would love an active home where she can enjoy regular walks, playtime, and opportunities to explore.
After giving so much of herself to raising her puppies, Shira is more than ready to be someone's cherished companion. If you're looking for a sweet, active, and loyal dog who just needs a little time to settle in, Shira could be the perfect match for you.

Pet of the week
About Sonic
Meet Sonic 🐾
Sonic is a 3.5-year-old Staffy with a larger-than-life personality and a love for all things fun. This energetic boy is looking for an active home that can keep up with his enthusiasm and provide him with the exercise, enrichment, and guidance he needs to thrive.
Due to his excitable nature, Sonic will require secure fencing to keep him safe and contained. He is a strong, energetic dog who can become very excited when meeting people or during play, and a secure yard is essential for his new home.
Sonic is a friendly, affectionate dog who loves being involved in whatever is happening around him. He can be jumpy, vocal, and overexcited, and doesn't always understand just how big and strong he is. Ongoing training and consistency will help him continue developing his manners and learn how to channel his excitement appropriately.
This handsome boy already knows some basic commands and will happily sit and shake for treats and attention. He is also a big fan of toys and enjoys interactive play, making toys a great way to engage with him and keep his active mind occupied.
Sonic has tested well with both male and female dogs, however he can display some dominant behaviours at times. If you have a dog at home, we recommend bringing them along for a meet and greet to ensure they are compatible.
With his high energy levels, Sonic is best suited to a household that enjoys an active lifestyle and can provide regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. In the right home, he will make a loyal, entertaining, and loving companion.
About Wally
- Application Only -
Meet Wally! ❤️
Wally's journey is one of incredible resilience.
When Wally first came into our care, he was in heartbreaking condition. He arrived with extensive injuries that required emergency veterinary treatment and weeks of dedicated care. While we'll never know exactly what happened to him before he came to us, it's clear that Wally endured far more than any dog ever should.
Through it all, Wally has shown nothing but strength, patience, and an unwavering love for people. Despite everything he has been through, he has never let his past define him. Instead, he's one of the sweetest, most affectionate boys you could ever hope to meet.
During his recovery, Wally became a beloved office companion, soaking up all the love and attention from our staff while healing both physically and emotionally. Because of this, Wally is now toilet trained, crate trained, and wonderfully well-mannered indoors.
He walks beautifully on lead, already knows his basic commands, and is happiest when he's by your side. If you're looking for a big lap dog, Wally is more than happy to volunteer for the position!
Wally would love an adult-only home where he can be a cherished member of the family, with access to both indoor and outdoor living. While he is non-reactive around other dogs, he would not be comfortable living with male dogs. He would be happiest as the only pet, although a calm female dog may be considered with the right introduction.
If you think you could give this incredibly deserving boy the safe, loving home he deserves, Please email companion.animal@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au and include the following:
• Your name, contact number, and address.
• Why you'd like to adopt Wally.
• Details about the people and animals in your home.
